Bio

I am proud to serve as the Lead Special Education Teacher at FCMS. Since I was was 5 years old and in kindergarten, I had always wanted to become a teacher. My dreams started becoming a reality when I received a dual degree from North Georgia College and State University (now UNG) in Special Education and in Early Childhood Education. I graduated Cum Laude and was offered a teaching position in Gwinnett County. Upon graduation, my husband and I moved to Gwinnett County where I began my teaching career. I taught a moderate to severe Autism class, and automatically fell in love with teaching. Although I loved my students, my husband and I knew that we didn't want to stay in Gwinnett County. Living in the city just didn't fit our personalities, and it wasn't where we wanted to raise a family. With that decision made, we moved to Franklin County on a penny and a prayer. Neither of us had jobs lined up, but we desperately wanted to come back "home" (my husband grew up in Stephens County). The day we began unpacking the first box, I got a call from FCMS for an interview, and everything fell into place from there. My husband and I now have two wonderful boys, Benjamin and Jackson, and we are proud to call Franklin County our forever home. Our feet are now firmly planted where our hearts are so deeply rooted.
