Bio

I am a product of the Franklin County school system!  I grew up in Franklin County, and I graduated from Franklin County High School. I went on to Emmanuel College and received an A.A. degree in general education.  From there, I went to the University of Georgia, and I received a B.A. degree in History and a minor in English.  I decided to pursue my love of history and English by adding an education degree.  I went back to Emmanuel College, and I received a B.S. in Middle School Education specializing in social studies and language arts.  I began teaching at Franklin County Middle School in August of 1997, and I still love teaching at FCMS.  My love for education has influenced me to continue my own education.  Once I began my teaching career, I did pursue other degrees.  I have an M.A. in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College.  I also have an Ed.S. degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University.  Continuing my own education is not my only hobby.  I love to read.  Students in my classroom will hear me talk about reading and the books that I love.  I have hundreds of books in my classroom that students can borrow from me.  Not only do I share this love of reading with the students that I teach, but I also enjoy reading and discussing books with my own children.  My husband, John, and I have two children.  My daughter, Taylor, is fifteen years old and in the tenth grade, and my son, Levi, is nine years old and in fourth grade.
